Private Medical Insurance

The Agency provides all employees with private medical insurance via BUPA. The cover enables you to have prompt private inpatient or outpatient treatment, so whether you want to have an operation or need some physio therapy you can use your BUPA Medical benefit.

You can claim on your BUPA in three east steps:

  1. Visit your GP and ask for a referral
  2. Call BUPA on 0345 609 0444
  3. Once BUPA have confirmed which specialist you can see, give your chosen specialist a call and book an appointment

Things to remember about your BUPA Cover:

  • You can add your spouse or dependants to your policy at any time for a cost borne to you by completing the and return it to the HR Team
  • The first time you claim in a calendar year you will need to pay a one off £100 excess for your treatment
  • Inpatient cover is higher, please contact BUPA for more information
  • Whilst the Agency pays for your private health care it is a taxable benefit.
  • You are also able to add your family members to the policy at a cost borne to you by completing Medical-Form-2023-Under-65  or  Medical-Form-2023-Over-65-1 and sending it to [email protected].

Dental Insurance

We help look after all our employee’s teeth through our Dental Plan.

Using this plan you can see a dentist and hygienist up to two times in each calendar year and you’ll be able to claim back the costs of seeing a private or NHS dentist for treatment ranging from an annual check-up, scale and polish to filling, crowns, extractions and dentures. It also covers emergency dental treatment.

There are caps on the amount you can claim back depending on the type of dental treatment you have, so please ensure you consult the Dental Policy Summary form prior to treatment and return it to [email protected].

After you have seen your GP and paid for the treatment you can claim back your funds in three easy steps:

  1. Visit the website and enter your personal details
  2. Scan or photograph and attach any receipts or invoices
  3. Press the button and submit for payment

Babylon Virtual GP

Babylon will enable you to:

  • Talk to a doctor in minutes, 24/7 – Talk to a GP at any time of the day or night, directly from your mobile. Appointments are normally available within two hours.
  • Referrals in minutes – Our GPs can issue open referral letters which can be used in conjunction with Bupa and some NHS pathways (at their discretion).
  • Prescriptions delivered – Your GP can send your prescription straight to the pharmacy of your choice for collection within the hour, or you can have your medication delivered to your door.
  • Check your symptoms – Babylon can analyse millions of symptom combinations in seconds to give you the most relevant health information.

The attached flyer has more information explaining how you download the app. Please make sure you add your first name, surname, email address, create a password, accept the terms and conditions and then click I have a code. Add the code OMNI1PMI, it will then prompt you to enter your date of birth after which point you will be signed up. Please note that Babylon is available to all employee that have Bupa PMI.

Thrive Wellbeing App

Thrive is a mental wellbeing app available to all staff, designed to help manage and spot the early signs of the most common mental health conditions.

Thrive has many support resources available to help you with life’s stresses:

  • Care First Lifestyle Advice, articles and webinars on a range of everyday topics including: relationships, childcare and bereavement.
  • Direct access to 24/7 Counselling – Provided by accredited councillors.
  • Access Care First Information specialists – Contact through the app for help and practical advice on a range of subjects either work related or personal.

DigiCare+

DigiCare+ is another new benefit available to all staff to access. DigiCare+ services offer prevention, early detection and support managing health and wellbeing needs through a range of resource tools:

  • Annual Health Check – a home-based test that examines 20 different health markers to identify problems early, including diabetes risk, cholesterol status and liver health.
  • Nutritional support – up to six consultations a year with a nutritional expert, including advice and guidance on delicious healthy eating plans.
  • Mental health support – tailored advice from mental health professionals- who provide home or work related advice.
  • Second Opinion – helps you access an expert second medical opinion and treatment plan after an initial diagnosis.

Eyecare Vouchers

If everything is starting to look a bit fuzzy then come and see the HR team for an annual eye test voucher. These are accepted by most opticians.

If the optician advises that you require glasses for VDU use, you can bring the optician’s certificate confirming this to HR and will be entitled to a spectacles voucher for £75

Off-site Company Doctor

If you need to see a doctor urgently or unable to obtain an appointment from your GP, the agency can arrange for you to see an off-site doctor. To arrange to see a doctor please call the HR Team.

Gym Membership

AMV offers a subsidised Gym Membership with Fitness First.

To join the gym with Tier 1 membership is £41.95 a month, simply complete and send the Gym Membership Form and the Fitness First Membership Form to [email protected].

Sports Massage

If you still have aches and pains then sports massage is a great way of keeping your muscles supple and healthy. It’s also a superb way of preventing injuries. If you already have an injury Lydia’s sessions will help with recovery. She also corrects postural problems by lengthening and realigning tightened muscles.

Lydia, our masseuse, has over 8 years’ experience in Health, Physio, Sports and Neuro clinics. She visits the agency every Wednesday and her treatments last for 30 minutes per person. If interested, please email her direct: [email protected]

Mental Health First Aid

Here at AMV we fully support the wellbeing of all our employees. We have trained staff who have practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues and can offer resources and immediate support. Self Space

We’re pleased to offer all permanent employees free access to Self Space, an organisation that offers flexible, forward-thinking therapy sessions lasting 50 minutes each.

The sessions can be booked using the Self Space app and are very flexible: you can often book and attend a session on the same day, and there is no obligation to book more than one. There are a range of therapists and types of therapy available, and if you try one but would like to switch, no questions will be asked. In the same way that you might alternate between yoga and pilates, you can also mix up your Self Space therapy sessions to fit whatever you think you need at the time.

The Self Space app is available on Google Play and the Apple Store and your AMV email address will allow to access the sessions that AMV have purchased. Self Space is currently based in Shoreditch, but also has limited availability at Great Guns in Borough from the 22nd April.
